Biography
Dr. Connie Dillon is an Associate Professor of Adult Education and Distance Learning in the Adult and Higher Education program in the College of Education at the University of Oklahoma. She teaches graduate courses in the theory and practice of distance education, telecommunications, program planning, and adult learning. She is also Director of the Research Center for Continuing Professional and Higher Education, where she specializes in distance learning research. She has experience in distance learning as an administrator, teacher, evaluator, and researcher. She has been recognized for outstanding research in distance learning by the National University Continuing Education Assn. and for outstanding teaching by the University of Oklahoma Student Association.
FORMAL EDUCATION
Ph. D. Education Technology, University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma, 1980. Major academic areas were media management, instructional development, and television production. Minor academic area was Adult Education. Official research tools were computer science and descriptive research with advanced work in experimental research. Accepted for an internship in instructional television production with Dr. Tom Foster, Director of Instructional Television, Grossmont College, El Cajon, California, June - August 1978. Dissertation entitled Educational Technology: Implications for the Future compared research in educational technology with futures studies through content analysis.
M.P.A. Public Administration, University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK., 1975. Course work included budgeting and finance, personnel management, public administration, and political science theory. Thesis entitled Enrollment Trends in the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education. 1965-75 was completed for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.
