Coronavirus/COVID-19 Visa Delays
Many US embassies and consulates have temporarily suspended visa services. Some have started to reopen, but because of the changing array of travel restrictions, students should refer to their local embassy’s website through the U.S. Department of State for any updates about visa issuance. Also, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) website provides information about current travel restrictions to the United States.
- Please check on the specific Embassy or Consulate location to best understand their specific availability: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/list-of-posts.html
- If your intended location is already temporarily closed, please check back to their website often, as they will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.
- You can find additional information tracking U.S. visa and entry restrictions related to COVID-19 here: https://www.nafsa.org/regulatory-information/covid-19-restrictions-us-visas-and-entry
