Misty Stanberry is the Child Welfare Professional Enhancement Program Manager. The Child Welfare Professional Enhancement Program (CWPEP) is a title IV-E partnership between the University of Oklahoma, the Department of Human Services, and the US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families. The purpose of this partnership is to enhance and support Oklahoma's public child welfare workforce. Interested students are provided financial support by covering books, fees, and in-state tuition in return for a specified employment obligation in a Child Welfare position with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OHS) or a Tribe with which OHS has a Tribal/State Agreement. This commitment is 12 (BSW), 15 (MSW, On-Ground), 18 (MSW, Online) months for each academic year of financial support. In addition to managing the program she serves as Faculty Liaison for students in the OU BSW and MSW Online and On-Ground programs completing their practicum in Child Welfare as employees or non-employees. Misty obtained her BSW and MSW at the University of Oklahoma with the assistance of CWPEP. Prior to coming to the school Misty worked for 8 years with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in Child Welfare. She spent her last three years with the state ensuring that practicum students were prepared for their future practice in child welfare and is excited to continue working with students through this new role.
