Julie is the Child Welfare Professional Enhancement Program Specialist for OU’s on-line program.  The Child Welfare Professional Enhancement Program (CWPEP) is a title IV-E partnership between the University of Oklahoma, the Department of Human Services, and the US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families. The purpose of this partnership is to enhance and support Oklahoma's public child welfare workforce. Interested students are provided financial support by covering books, fees, and in-state tuition in return for a specified employment obligation in a Child Welfare position with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) or a Tribe with which DHS has a Tribal/State Agreement. This commitment is 12 (BSW) or 15 (MSW) months for each academic year of financial support. She serves as Faculty Liaison for students in the OU on-line program completing their practicum in Child Welfare as employees or non-employees. As Julie is a retired Child Welfare employee from OK DHS, she is excited to continue to support public child welfare workers and encourage others to consider Child Welfare as a career.

Julie obtained her Master of Social Work in 1999 from the University of Oklahoma.  She resides in Broken Arrow with her husband, Roger. The two enjoy vacationing and traveling with family and friends.
