Cassandra has over 18+ years of experience in working with individuals and families in different capacities.  She began her social work career as a Resident Counselor for Tulsa County and upon graduating from NSU she transitioned to Oklahoma Human Services (formerly OKDHS).  While at OHS, she worked as a Child Welfare Specialist, Independent Living Specialist and School-based Social Worker.  Next, Cassandra transferred to the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services; while there she worked first as the Criminal Justice Diversion Specialist embedded within the Tulsa County Juvenile Bureau completing clinical assessments on youth involved within the system and linking them to community resources; then as a Regional Project Specialist coordinating the Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) program for Tulsa.  Cassandra has been teaching as an adjunct since 2012, teaching first at St. Gregory's University until the university's closure in 2017 before joining the OU family in 2019.  Teaching and learning are two things that Cassandra is very passionate about right next to being a social worker and meeting new people!

In May 2021 Cassandra was awarded Community Faculty of the Year from the University of Oklahoma in recognition of her excellence in teaching, outstanding guidance and leadership.
