Barton Hanna serves as the Admissions & Recruitment Specialist for the Norman campus of the Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work. He holds an MSW degree and began his career as a Treatment Social Worker with the New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department in Albuquerque. He then spent two years in Cape Town, South Africa, serving as a Social Worker at two children’s shelters affiliated with the Cape Town City Mission.
Upon returning to the United States, Barton transitioned into recruitment and higher education, gathering experience in collegiate and graduate admissions over five years. He later served for 13 years in academic advising before joining the University of Oklahoma School of Social Work. Barton is passionate about helping prospective students navigate their educational journey and is committed to supporting future social workers as they begin their professional path.
