Amanda started her social work experience in 1997 working in Domestic Violence at the local Domestic Violence Shelter.  Amanda attended Florida State University where she obtained a Bachelors and Masters in social work.   In 2012, she returned to school and obtained a second Masters in Criminal Justice with a concentration in behavioral sciences.  In the past she has been a registered UK Social Worker and has held certification in addictions.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and clinical supervisor in Florida and Oklahoma.

Her clinical experience includes working with both civilian and military families.  Prior to coming to the OU she provided training on child abuse and domestic violence to military leadership, prevention treatment for military families, and taught parenting and anger management classes to military personnel.  She also has worked for Idaho State University as an Embedded Child Welfare Training and Adjunct Professor.  Her experience includes research, curriculum development, program evaluation, child protection investigations, and therapeutic services to adults and children.  In 2019, she opened a private practice where she provides clinical supervision and therapy.
