Biography
Trina Hope came to OU in 1996 after earning her PhD in Sociology from the University of Arizona. Dr. Hope is a criminologist whose research interests are in the causes of crime and delinquency, particularly the role of the family, peers, and self-control. Her work has been published in outlets such as Journal of Criminal Justice, Justice Quarterly, Deviant Behavior, and Violence and Victims. She teaches undergraduate courses in Criminology and Sociology of Family and graduate seminars in The Ecology of Crime and The Family and Crime. She is married to an OU History professor and has two school-aged kids.
