Dr. Ted Brown teaches courses in American politics, state and local government, political theory, and international relations. His scholarly interests include democratic citizenship, civic engagement, political theory, and the ways literature and popular culture can illuminate political ideas. His published work has explored politics through science fiction, including Ender’s Game and Starship Troopers.
Having taught at universities and community colleges across Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas, Dr. Brown has extensive experience in face-to-face, hybrid, and online education. He believes political science is most valuable when it helps students think more carefully about the institutions, ideas, and choices that shape public life. His teaching encourages students to connect political concepts to contemporary issues, their own experiences, and the communities around them.
