Dr. Justin Wert is an Associate Professor of Political Science and the Associates Second Century Presidential Professor at the University of Oklahoma. From 2017-2019, he will be the Presidential Teaching Fellow in the University of Oklahoma Honors College. He is the author of Habeas Corpus in America: The Politics of Individual Rights (Kansas) [Read Reviews] and The Rise and Fall of the Voting Rights Act (Oklahoma). He has published articles in the Stanford Law & Policy Review; the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy; American Review of Politics; PS: Political Science and Politics; Faulkner University Law Review; and several book reviews and chapters in edited volumes. He is also co-editor of The American Review of Politics and the Studies in American Constitutional Heritage book series with the University of Oklahoma Press.
His teaching and research interests include constitutional law; civil rights and civil liberties; American government; as well as race and American politics.
