RESEARCH DESCRIPTION
My research in experimental particle physics has covered a wide variety of topics. I have studied QCD and heavy flavor physics as a member of the DØ collaboration at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, which is located near Chicago Illinois. At DØ, I studied QCD by measuring jet shape distributions, dijet angular distributions and evaluating different jet algorithms. For heavy flavor physics I studied properties of the B meson, and in particular Bs mixing, which involves a Bs meson oscillating into its anti-matter partner. I have also been active in studying various particles including the χ(3872), and the Ξb– and Ωb baryons. I have been studying CP violation by studying the decays Bs → J/ψf0(980) and Bs → J/ψf2´(1525) and searching for exotic states such as the X(4140) and the Zb.
I am currently a member of the ATLAS collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) located near Geneva, Switzerland. The ATLAS detector has been collecting data since 2010 and has accumulated a large data set at the world's highest center of mass energy. At the LHC, I have been involved in measuring differential photon cross sections, searching for Super Symmetry, and studying prompt J/Psi production in association with a W boson. I am currently searching for Vector-like leptons, studying WWW and WWgamma decays. In addition to the analysis projects, I am also involved in helping build the next generation pixel detector for the ATLAS experiment.
