Dr. Yanrong Qi is a lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics. She received her Ph.D. degree in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum from the University of Oklahoma. Her research interests include second language acquisition and Chinese language pedagogy. She has published a textbook and research articles in those fields. Prior to OU, she taught Chinese at Harvard University, where she won the Harvard Excellence in Teaching Award, and at the University of Maryland. She also taught at Middlebury's Summer Intensive Language Program. Dr. Qi has been teaching beginning, intermediate, and advanced level Chinese language courses at OU since 2005. She serves as the Chinese Program Language Coordinator, Chinese Major & Minor Advisor Liaison, and Chinese Language Club Faculty Advisor. She has developed and revised the Chinese courses for multiple levels and trained all graduate teaching assistants for the OU Chinese Program. She won the University Distinguished Teaching Award at OU in 2021.
