Giuseppe Grispino's scholarly inquiry is primarily centered on the complexities of silence and narration within illness narratives, with a particular emphasis on Italian HIV/AIDS literature. He also has a profound interest in contemporary world literature and cinema. Giuseppe obtained his Ph.D. in Italian Studies from Rutgers University in 2025, where he successfully defended a dissertation titled "Kintsugi Literature: Absence, Circumnarration, and Narration of HIV/AIDS in Italian Literature, 1989-2019." Prior to his focus on Italian Studies, he engaged in the field of Chinese Studies, earning both an M.A. and a B.A. in Asian and North African Studies from Ca' Foscari University of Venice. Additionally, he holds an M.A. in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from Capital Normal University in China.
Before his position at the University of Oklahoma, Giuseppe taught at Rutgers University, Colgate University, and Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
In his free time, Giuseppe enjoys reading and watching films. He also loves curating his vinyl collection and discovering the hidden cultural gems of Oklahoma.
