To qualify for a graduate degree, students must earn an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the degree program coursework.

Deadlines to apply for graduation:

September 15 for FALL – December Graduation

February 15 for SPRING – May Graduation

June 1 for SUMMER – August Graduation

Time Limit for Degree Completion -

Students have five years from their first semester of graduate-level OU enrollment to complete their master's degree.

All students graduating from the University of Oklahoma must apply for graduation through the Graduation Application in ONE.  Students who do not apply for graduation will not be cleared for graduation.

The submitted graduation application will be valid for three consecutive semesters. Failure to graduate within three semesters of filing the application will result in the need to resubmit the application form.

All tuition and fees must be paid before a student can officially graduate and receive a diploma.

For additional questions about the graduation application, please contact the Office of Academic Records at (405) 325-2017.

The OU Office of Records posts degrees to student transcripts about six weeks after the close of each semester. Diplomas are then mailed to students approximately 120 days after the close of each semester.
