I specialize in 18th and 19th c. Mexican history. My dissertation traces relationships between gender, medicine, and land in Indigenous pueblos. Using ecclesiastic, criminal, and civil records, I explore how rural Indigenous women constructed knowledge and maintained community. My research interests are in transnational women and genders history, Indigenous studies, and history of science. I am currently a graduate student instructor for HIST 1483, American History to 1865. I was the co-managing editor for the Journal of Women's History (based out of OU) for two years. Prior to doctoral studies I worked in museum education and community college admissions. I am the proud daughter of an immigrant, a single mother, big sister, and companion and guardian to a Xoloitzcuintle and two felines.
