, Biochemistry, Plateau State University, Bokkos, 2021

As a first-generation college student from a humble background in the Farinkassa (Yilpiya) community, Mangu LGA, Plateau State, Nigeria, my academic journey is a testament to resilience and determination. I completed my bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Plateau State University Bokkos. Upon graduation in 2021. I later joined the circulatory health research laboratory in Abuja as a research assistant, where I played a vital role in a few clinical trial research.

My experiences and strong passion for research, particularly in understanding the fundamental mechanisms of human chronic diseases, therapeutics, and energy, have driven me to pursue a Ph.D. in Biochemistry. I am eager to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in these critical areas.

Laboratory: I joined Dr. John W. Peters Laboratory in December 2023, where I am currently working on a cool concept called Catalytic Bias. Catalytic Bias is a reversible enzyme's propensity to preferentially favor the reaction rate in one direction compared to the other under nonequilibrium conditions.

Research: My research will seek to apply kinetic, structural, and mechanical quantum tunneling approaches to elucidate the determinant of catalytic Bias of hydride transfer in NADH-dependent dehydrogenase in horse liver alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH).

Postgraduation Plan: Upon graduation, I am committed to applying my skills in classical kinetics in the pharmaceutical industry to develop sustainable therapeutic options. I also aspire to maintain academic and scientific relevance through world-class research and publications in electron transfer in biological systems related to health and energy.
