Research Interests

I have a broad interest in evolutionary biology, ranging from the molecular mechanisms underlying phenotypic variation to the eco-evolutionary forces shaping the evolutionary history of populations and species.

More recently, I have developed particular interest in the evolution of different reproductive systems, from their molecular causes to their evolutionary consequences.

During my career, I have worked with a wide range of organisms, mainly using genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics methods as toolkits to investigate the historical factors influencing the genetic structure and phytogeographical patterns of wild populations. I also integrated experimental approaches to analyse the molecular basis (e.g., epigenetics) and potential (non) adaptive consequences of phenotypic plasticity.
