OU Institutional Surveys

The Office of Academic Assessment helps conduct or coordinate deployment of several campus-wide institutional, local, and national surveys as part of the institution’s portfolio of assessments. Findings from these surveys are critical as part of the overall institutional decision-making processes pertaining to various aspects of student satisfaction, engagement, and their overall success. Below are brief descriptions of the surveys.

OU Student Satisfaction Survey (SSS)

The survey aims at capturing student satisfaction with services and resources that impact their daily experiences at OU, with the overall intent to develop and implement recommendations for continuous improvement.

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is administered on a triennially basis at the University of Oklahoma to all first year and senior students. The survey is designed to obtain information from hundreds of first year and seniors students from four-year colleges and universities nationwide about their participation in programs and activities that institutions provide for learning and personal development.

Student Experience in the Research University (SERU) Survey

The University of Oklahoma is part of the Student Experience in the Research University (SERU) Consortium, which includes most of the Association of American Universities (AAU) members. The SERU survey is designed to gather information on a wide range of aspects, from academic skills through global engagement opportunities to civic engagement to financial considerations.
