DAVIS DIRECTOR, PROGRAM IN AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDIES ASSOCIAT PROFESSOR, DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY RESEARCH ASSOICATE, CENTER OF DEMOGRAPHY AND POPULATION HEALTH FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY Callous Indifference: Profit Over People in Flint's Ongoing Water Crisis In this talk, I document how the state of Michigan hindered Flint's recovery from the water crisis during the initial years of the city's lead remediation process. Findings illustrate the extent to which delays in efforts to repair the city's lead service lines were motivated by neoliberal state action.
