In addition to attending trainings and consulting with Digital Accessibility Specialists at the ADRC, please refer to the information below for more information to ensure the accessibility of your materials.
If you have PDF documents, you will need Adobe Acrobat (free to all OU full-time employees) to check and remediate for accessibility.
We understand that some instructors may be using some teaching materials that are standardized across several courses. In these cases, we ask you to work with the coordinator/designer of the course to ensure across-course accessibility by OUs accessibility standards.
Check the accessibility of all materials. If you are uploading materials (such as Word documents, PowerPoint, or PDFs) to Canvas or other online platform, they must be fully accessible before uploading them. PDF files must be in an accessible, editable text and image format.
Check Canvas by using the accessibility checker built into Canvas.
