The Big Event & the OU Dance Marathon

Each year, the Big Event and the OU Dance Marathon positively impact Oklahoma communities in unique ways. From raising thousands to benefit Oklahoma children to volunteering across Norman and OKC to help the local community, thousands of OU students are committed to the act of giving.

OU Dance Marathon (OUDM) 2022

This year, over 2,500 participants came together to help OUDM raise $735,000. This donation will directly benefit 300,000 Oklahoma children across 77 counties. OUDM is OU’s largest student-led philanthropy, as well as the official philanthropy of Campus Activities Council (CAC) and one of the top ten largest dance marathons across the nation.

The Big Event 2022

This year, the Big Event sent over 4,000 volunteers to 170 job sites in Norman and Oklahoma City, saving over $450,000 in direct costs for local nonprofits and other community organizations. During the 2021-22 academic year, $45,000 was raised in monetary donations to support the Big Event, as well as $29,000 in in-kind donations from partners in the Norman and OU communities.
