Chabelli Mendoza, an OU junior majoring in criminology and human relations on the pre-law track, grew up in the small town of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Growing up, she always possessed the desire to attend college and earn a degree. As she found her place of belonging at the University of Oklahoma, she plugged herself into student organizations like the Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority, campus opportunities like OU Hispanic Royalty, and even a summer internship with William Velie Attorneys at Laws, PLLC, in Norman.
"For a student to be successful here in college, they have to feel like they belong," Chabelli said. "Here at OU, we have over 500 student organizations. There's a variety of opportunities to find a community and develop professionally and personally. There is truly something for everyone."
In 2023, Chabelli was elected as part of OU's Hispanic Royalty. Learn more about Chabelli's platform, "Juntos Somos Más”, which translates to "Together We Are More."
