As a student, where did you leave your mark on campus?

I worked with the OU Daily to write a feature story about Julius Jones, an innocent man on death row and former OU student. Writing his story, learning about Julius and his family, and giving him and his advocates a bigger platform was one of the most meaningful experiences in my university life, as well as my personal and professional life.

Motivated

When was the moment you felt the greatest Sooner pride?

There are many times where I have felt Sooner pride, but I think the most valuable moments happen when fellow students uplift each other and celebrate their differences. This happens anywhere, from joining extracurriculars that focus on your passions, to meeting your neighbors in the residence halls, to standing with your classmates when injustice happens on and/or off campus.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

Be a resident advisor, especially if you're first-gen or funding your own education. This job allows you to be a campus leader and gives you access to a meal plan and a living space on campus.
