As a student, where did you leave your mark on campus?

I left my mark in Arezzo, Italy. I studied abroad for a semester at the OU campus in Arezzo, and I gained life-long friendships, connected with professors, and learned valuable skills.

Define the OU Family in your own words.

OU is a place where individuals and groups of people feel comfortable to be themselves in a loving and supportive environment. OU truly values everyone's unique life experiences and skill sets.

When was the moment you felt the greatest Sooner pride?

When I walked across the stage at graduation and shook hands/hugged all of the professors who helped shape my college experience. I would not be in the position I am in today if it were not for their continuous support.

What was the greatest gift you took with you after graduation?

The greatest gift I took with me is the friendships I have made in my four years at OU as well as the ability to call OU my home. Every time I have the opportunity to return to the Norman campus, I feel a sense of belonging to a community.

Reveal one secret about campus.

The Beaird Lounge is the best study spot. Head to the Oklahoma Memorial Union, Grab a cup of coffee from Starbucks downstairs and head to the second floor for the coziest atmosphere and comfortable chairs.

What is your favorite OU tradition?

Do not walk under the clock tower! There is a myth at OU that claims if a student walks under the clock tower, they will not graduate in four years. Students avoid walking under the clock tower at all costs. Then, at graduation, newly graduated students can walk under the clock tower to signify the end of their undergrad.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

It is okay if you do not have everything figured out all of the time. Take it one step at a time, and know that there are support systems in place that are there to help you. OU staff and faculty are the most helpful and compassionate group of people that I have had the pleasure to interact with. Do not be afraid to ask questions.
