The idea of funding a college education can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be! While it’s rare you’ll receive a “full ride” from a specific institution, it’s not uncommon for students to come in with their college education already fully paid for through scholarships from different places. Each year, an estimated $46 billion is awarded in scholarship and grant money, all coming from different sources. Scholarship money can come from a college or institution of higher education, community organizations, local/state/national entities, national organizations, sports teams, alumni societies, and more, one must simply research, plan, and execute.
Oklahoma's Promise offers qualified Oklahoma students an opportunity to earn a scholarship for college tuition.

Crimson Commitment guarantees scholarships and grants to cover tuition and up to $8,300 in average fees for an OU student who qualifies and receives Oklahoma's Promise. Tuition and fees will vary based on major.

The Office of Admissions and Recruitment administers our National Award Scholarship. We consider applicants who are in the College Board Recognition Programs including AP Scholars. Student must have a 29 or higher ACT (or SAT equivalent) and a 3.5 GPA. This is a competitive scholarship. We have 40 awards to give each year (15 resident and 25 non resident). Students are automatically considered for this scholarship with their freshman application. The scholarship is not based on financial need.
We review a number of areas including the amount of involvement students have had in school and their community, class rank, academic rigor (Concurrent Enrollment, AP classes, etc.) and ACT/SAT scores.
The Community Enrichment Scholars program recognizes students who are involved in cultural, heritage activities supporting the values of diverse communities.

The Sooner Traditions Scholars scholarship was established to increase the enrollment of students from the urban schools in Oklahoma City and Tulsa area that have less than an average of six new freshmen enrolling to the University of Oklahoma each year. The schools included are:

These micro-scholarships represent the minimum scholarship amount promised from OU.
CASH is where current OU students can apply for all merit and financial need-based OU scholarships from October 1 to February 1 each year.
College-wide scholarships, departmental scholarships, financial aid scholarships, study abroad scholarships, Sooner Parents scholarships, and campus awards are all housed in CASH. Undergraduate, graduate, liberal studies, international, and study abroad populations are encouraged to access the system to apply for scholarships.

OU's Connections and Student Engagement genuinely believes that every student has a story and those stories are important in exposing others to higher education. Therefore, every year our office awards up to 40 current OU students the opportunity to serve as CSE Interns, helping aid high school students through the college application and admissions process by sharing those stories and showing that higher education is possible regardless of your background. Interns receive a $1,250 stipend for the academic year.
