#1 Set Up Your OU Account & Email

Your OU account is your key to submitting your enrollment deposit and accessing OU resources such as email, enrollment, grades, course materials, computer labs, OU Libraries resources, and more. You will also need to set up your OU account to complete your housing contract. Many OU offices will only communicate with you via your official OU email account. Please check it regularly.

To set up your account, visit one.ou.edu/activate. You'll need your OU Net ID number (4 letters and 4 numbers) to create your account. Take a moment to write this ID and your new password down. You'll use this to access all things OU!

If you need assistance, please call OU IT at 405-325-4357.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are many benefits to submitting your enrollment deposit sooner rather than later! Here are just a few:

  • Room Selection Access Time: Room selection access times will be determined by your enrollment deposit date. To receive a room selection access time, you must pay your enrollment deposit by May 1 and complete your housing contract.
  • New Sooner Orientation (Opening February 3, 2025): The sooner you commit to OU, the sooner you can schedule your New Sooner Orientation, a mandatory and key step in preparing for OU. New Sooner Orientation connects you with an academic advisor, enrolls you in first semester classes at OU, and sets you up for success.

Students enroll in classes during their New Sooner Orientation (NSO) day, which takes place over the summer. New Sooner Orientation is the first step in the orientation process for every new student's successful transition to OU. Before students can schedule a NSO day, they must submit their enrollment deposit.

To complete your housing contract, your first step is to set up your OU account by visiting one.ou.edu/activate. Once your account is set up, you can complete the housing contract by visiting OU Bound. If you complete a housing contract and submit your enrollment deposit by May 1, you can participate in room selection. Housing room selection access times will be determined by your enrollment deposit date.
