Serena Woodard is a first-year graduate student at the University of Oklahoma. She obtained an A.A. in Mass Communications from Rose State College in 2021 and her B.A. in Communications in 2023. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Human Relations with a special focus on leadership and social change. After graduating, Woodard desires to live on a ranch and create a personal growth and leadership curriculum for middle school and high school-aged youth. One of her proudest accomplishments is being a first-generation college student and breaking academic barriers in her family.
Outside of school, Serena is a certified 4-H volunteer. She enjoys fishing, shopping locally, and playing with her four dogs.
My favorite OU tradition is Stadium Sunrise for graduates.
The most rewarding part of working with students is witnessing their growth as they make the most of the resources available to them. While every student has access to the same tools, each one embarks on a unique journey, crafting their own version of Sooner Magic.
The quickest way to fall behind in college is to lose sight of your ultimate goal: graduating a degree hotter!
Stay on top of your coursework by keeping up with readings and engaging in class. Focus on your organization and keep track with a calendar and notes. Lastly, apply for scholarships! Also, never doubt yourself. You are here for a reason!
