Sarah has completed 10 years at OU as a professional academic advisor. However, she is still constantly learning new things about what OU has to offer. Her husband, Les, is Australian and serves on the faculty in OU's School of Music. They first met while she was studying abroad as a graduate student, in Brisbane, Australia. After marrying, Sarah and Les lived and worked in London, England, before returning to Norman to be near family and raise their children, Noah and Liam. Sarah's family also includes an awesome Golden Retriever named Maverick, who can frequently be seen going for walks with us on campus, usually splashing around in one of OU's beautiful fountains.
I don't know that this is a "tradition," per se, but I love the story about David Ross Boyd's arrival to early Norman, when he looked at a vast, flat prairie, and exclaimed, "What possibilities!" OU folklore tells us that Boyd planted trees all around campus, and I think about this every day when I come to work and see the "Seed Sower" statue on the South Oval.
It's so gratifying when a student tells me that I have given them the answers they need. I guess I just love being able to help!
