Lillian is the Associate Provost of the Academic Success Center at the University of Oklahoma. In her time at OU, she has worked closely with students who have experienced great impediments to their academic success as well as those who have excelled at OU. She is passionate about helping students navigate academic, social, and personal development processes.
Lillian has also led curriculum development for multiple courses at OU. She has previously served as the director of the Ethical and Intercultural Leadership course in the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences and for the Gateway to College Learning and University College Seminar courses in University College. She created the OU Citizen textbook and was recognized as the 2021-2022 Outstanding University College Seminar Instructor Award, the 2009 Oklahoma Academic Advising Association's Outstanding Advisor of the Year Award, the 2008-09 Outstanding Instructor of the Year for the Gateway course, and the 2007 Provost's Advisory Committee Outstanding New Advisor Award. In her personal time, Lillian enjoys traveling and spending time with her large family and her friends.
My favorite OU tradition is the singing of the OU chant--it is such a special moment for everyone to unite around their love for OU!
My favorite part of working with students is helping them channel their excitement about the many possibilities OU has to offer into informed decision making about the college experience they hope to create for themselves.
Do not be afraid to take risks. Continue to challenge yourself and be willing to do hard things.
