Lauren loves people, and it was her own college experience that revealed her passion for working with college students. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University for her undergrad degree where she studied Psychology and Communication. It was at OBU that she fell in love with working in higher education because of her campus involvement and work in student affairs. This excitement for higher education led her to OU for her master’s degree, where she has since worked in residence life, advising, the Student Learning Center, and Major and Career Exploration. When not working with students, Lauren enjoys traveling, drinking coffee, reading, being outdoors, and quality time with people.
There is so much possibility! College is where many people grow and develop and make decisions that impact who they are for the rest of their lives. I love coming alongside students to help facilitate their self-exploration, decision-making, personal development, and all those highs and lows that come with college to help them get excited about their futures and the people they are becoming.
Embrace not knowing everything and make an intentional effort to explore every opportunity at your disposal. Things don't always work out in the way you expect, and often the most formative, helpful, exciting things come from the unexpected! College is an ideal time to grow both academically and personally—give yourself permission to explore growth and development in new areas.
