Jessi was born in Texas and raised in OKC. She is connected to her Southern/Mid-Western roots, but loves exploring other cultures. She studied Teaching English as a Second Language (among many other things, "because choosing one thing is hard!"). Jessi can speak conversational Portuguese and loves learning languages. She enjoys discovering other people's passions and helping them utilize their strengths to connect to the world around them.
I'm not sure if it's a "tradition" per se, but I love the Seed Sower and what it stands for. I love that students pass the statue every day on their way to class and can consider "what possibilities" lie ahead for both today and their future!
I love that their future is just beginning and there are endless opportunities in front of them. You have so much space to dream and just to get to know your strengths and passions better. I love the excitement and nerves that come with each year, because I’m nostalgic, and it reminds me of how shaping my time in college was – how many great memories I made.
Embrace the newness & awkwardness of each new step you have to take, and the time you have to take to learn more about yourself. There’s not many times in life specifically designed for you to explore your options, so take advantage of it!
