Hometown: Norman, Oklahoma

Ingrid was born in Oklahoma to Dutch immigrant parents but lived in Hawaii for 15 years. She became a mom at 43 and decided to move back home to Norman. One of her fondest college memories is being a founding member of OU's Women's Roses Rugby Team. She was also a competitive diver, surfer, softball player, soccer goalie, and more! Ingrid loves nurturing tropical orchids and flowers, beadwork, and cooking (she has been crowned the champion of numerous cook-off competitions). Now, she describes herself as just a country girl who enjoys being out by the lake with her two dogs and lots of wildlife. Ingrid says, "Aloha! and welcome to OU!"

I love the Sooner Schooner run at the OU football games, a piece of Oklahoma history and the ponies are so cute!

I love the diversity, all the wonderful things I learn about other cultures, especially fashion and foods. I am passionate about helping students succeed, I rejoice in their academic and personal victories, and have made many life-long connections.

It is important to set aside enough study time and keep a good planner, it is also important to build in free time with friends as well for a memorable college experience.
