Celina first joined the OU community as a first generation freshman in 1996. Since that time her mother and both children have joined the ranks of OU alumni as well. She has a combination of almost two decades working in secondary and post-secondary education in various support positions. She enjoys helping others succeed in their unique areas of interest and hearing how our stories and respective disciplines intertwine to create a stronger community. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Environmental Design as well as a Master's in Regional and City Planning. In her free time Celina enjoys almost any competitive activity, spending time with her family and dogs, or diving into a good book while sipping on a hot London Fog.
I love seeing everyone with their symbolic #1 finger high in the air and hearing them singing in unison anytime the OU Chant is played. I also love all the excitement, music, creative story-telling, and outstanding costumes of University Sing and Sooner Scandals performances each Fall and Spring.
I love hearing students' hopes and dreams for the future and it brings me such joy to be able to do what I can to assist and encourage them along their unique and fascinating journeys filled with adventure, personal growth, and overcoming.
Even though it seems like sleep is the enemy of being social and doing as much as possible, it's NOT -- give yourself the gift of a decent quantity and quality of sleep. Your body, mind, AND social relations (the ones you have and the ones you will make) will all be better for it. Also, these are the years of your adulthood with the greatest opportunity for your most unrestricted adventures and self-discovery, so don't be afraid to try new things (even if they scare you a little).
