WLT Student Advisory Board

What is SAB?

The Student Advisory Board is a student-led organization at OU that advises the WLT staff about improving the magazine, brainstorming ideas for events and promotions, and raising WLT’s visibility on campus. The SAB meets usually meets once a week, and members will receive special access to invitation-only events during the 2021 Neustadt Lit Fest (Oct 25-27).

Although WLT is known primarily as OU’s magazine of international literature and culture, our offices in Monnet Hall have also become a vibrant humanities center for OU students. Working with hundreds of students a year, WLT also sponsors a magazine publishing course, a student-led book club, student fellowships (in association with our Neustadt and Puterbaugh courses), student research grants, and other literary events throughout the year.

Many SAB members have gone on to work in publishing careers—we actively support students’ professional development by writing letters of recommendation, helping them build their résumés, and providing networking opportunities via our widespread contacts at OU and in Oklahoma, the U.S., and even abroad.
