Our Peer Learning Assistants, or PLAs, are selected based on several criteria: Our needs for the upcoming semester (depends on faculty partnerships with us, our returning staff, and demand for subjects), the candidate's academic record, the candidate's availability to work certain session times, communication skills, and other factors. Hired PLAs undergo 10 hours of paid, internationally-certified tutor training each year and are given a competitive wage.
Office Assistants provide support to our PLAs by checking students in and out during sessions, and managing Zoom sessions for virtual tutoring. They are vital to creating a welcoming and friendly environment.
