OU-Tulsa Student Government Association

Mission Statement

This mission of OUTSGA is to enhance students' experiences and enable them to gain the most they can from their university education by providing opportunities for each student wishing to participate in activities and programs that contribute to the development of the OU-Tulsa community.

Advice for First-Year Students: Make the time to get to know your professors and peers. These can be lasting connections that can make a huge impact on you and your future. Your professors are invested in your education and want youto succeed, but you must put yourself out there in order to get their help.

What makes OU-Tulsa home? OU-Tulsa is home because everyone is truly genuine and wants the very best for you. Every person here is committed to helping you achieve your goals.

Advice for First-Year Students: The Student Affairs-sponsored events put on through the year are an excellent way to meet fellow students and have a great time!

What makes OU-Tulsa home? I think the smaller campus makes OU-Tulsa feel like home for me. Being able to meet new people from various programs makes this campus much more enjoyable.

Advice for First-Year Students: Start networking and expanding your professional circle early. Taking the time to learn from others and build supportive relationships opens the door to more career opportunitites, knowledge of what is current in your field, and creates a sense of purpose and community. 

What makes OU-Tulsa home? The School of Social WOrk faculty is extremely supportive. I have received thoughtful and thorough feedback on assignments and projects that have helped me grow as a professional.

Advice for First-Year Students: You're at a transition point. Right now, it's a new beginning. You don't get many opportunities in life like that. You get to be someone new. You get to be whoever you want, but you have to want it and you have to aim at it. Create a vision and take the wheel.

What makes OU-Tulsa home? OU-Tulsa is home because of the amazing people that make up our school. We're one big family, and the people you will meet and the experiences you will have will last a lifetime.
