OU-Tulsa / Urban Design / How to Apply
Applying for your degree or certificate in Urban Design at OU-Tulsa is the first step toward achieving your educational goals.
Because every student and situation is different, there is no one-size-fits-all solution to successfully submitting your application. The information on this page is designed to help you easily navigate the application process. We strongly encourage all Urban Design applicants to contact Shawn Schaefer prior to applying to ensure this process is a smooth one.
You must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. There is no major requirement.
You must have a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
You must have three favorable letters of recommendation.
You must submit a resume and sample of work exhibiting your potential to contribute to the Urban Design Studio’s work and mission.
International applicants from non-English speaking countries must demonstrate English proficiency per the University of Oklahoma requirements.
Standardized test scores, including the GRA or GMAT are not required for admissions.

A US $50 application fee made payable to the University of Oklahoma.
You will need:
Official transcripts from each academic institution attended.
Three letters of reference from professors, employers, or colleagues familiar with your
scholarly or professional achievements.
A resume or vita and a sample of work (depending on the program, see below)
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination scores or equivalent if applying from non-English speaking countries.

Tuition and fees are significantly lower than many comparable programs. Tuition and fees for Oklahoma residents are approximately US $7,000 for the entire course of study. Tuition and fees for non-residents are approximately US $14,000 for the entire course of study.

There is no application deadline and students can be admitted anytime, however students are encouraged to begin classes in the fall since real estate courses are best taken in sequence. International students must be admitted by April 1st for the fall term to acquire visas and plan their travel to the USA. February 1st is the deadline to apply for scholarships and other financial aid for the following fall term. Students must be admitted before applying for aid.
