Integrated Multidisciplinary Program of Assertive Community Treatment

OU IMPACT seeks to provide intensive treatment to persons with chronic mental illnesses. Our primary objective is to improve overall wellness for those individuals that need higher levels of care, by utilizing a best practice approach that incorporates clinical, medical and rehabilitation services through an integrated multidisciplinary team.   Our target population will be those individuals that are diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, recurrent major depression with psychotic features and bipolar disorder. The core philosophy of OU IMPACT is based on harm reduction and strength building. OU IMPACT provides a best practice approach to treatment and prevention and does so through engagement, encouragement and positive reinforcement.

The Y-OU IMPACT Program

As part of our Behavioral Health Home, OU IMPACT has collaborated with the Tandy Family YMCA and The University of Oklahoma College of Allied Health, specifically Dr Ken Randall and Dr. Jessica Tsotsoros, to provide a physical health and wellness program for our members.  Our aim in this study is to bring the physical and psychosocial benefits of exercise to people with behavioral diagnoses that include bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and schizophrenia through an exercise, activity and nutrition program. Please watch the video below for an overview.
