Nonprofit Management Certificate Program Overview

OU-Tulsa also offers a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management through the MPA program. The course includes four core classes and three 1-hour seminars (15 hours total).

This certificate is a stand alone program. Upon completion, however, the certificate can be fully applied to the MPA program.

This program is designed for individuals who seek to build skills in nonprofit leadership and advocacy. The program was developed to provide advanced academic training in the skill sets critical to leaders in nonprofit organizations. The Nonprofit Management certificate can be completed in just one year.

Our program is designed for both working professionals and full-time students located in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Norman areas, offering the most flexibility in course scheduling and career paths.

Program Requirements

  • An application 
  • Transcript showing an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (for regular admissions) OR graduate GPA (based on 12 hours or more) of 3.0 or higher. 
  • Statement of professional purpose and goals (i.e., how will the certificate program help you achieve your career goals?)
  • 2 letters of recommendation; at least one from someone familiar with applicant’s performance in the workplace (the requirement for letters of recommendation is waived for individuals who are current OU graduate students in good standing)

Nonprofit Management Certificate Curriculum

All courses are offered on nights and weekends to accommodate the working adult. Student must apply to the program and meet the standards of the OU Graduate College.
