Lamont Cavanagh, MD Associate Professor

Dr. Lamont Cavanagh is a Tulsa native, and is dedicated to improving the health of the community he loves. Dr. Cavanagh earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Oklahoma. After an internship in Tulsa, he spent five years as an Air Force flight surgeon and currently is chief of aerospace medicine for the 138th Fighter Wing of the Oklahoma Air National Guard. In 2000, he completed a family medicine residency and a sports medicine fellowship at the OU College of Medicine in Tulsa. He joined the clinical faculty of the Department of Family Medicine in 2001. Dr. Cavanagh’s clinical responsibilities include being an associate professor for the OU School of Community Medicine, attending physician at Hillcrest hospital, and serving as Medical Director for the OU Physicians Health@Work program, Sports Medicine Fellowship program, Center for Exercise and Sports Medicine, and Center for Sport Concussion. Dr. Cavanagh consistently ranks as one of the top doctors in Oklahoma and has garnered national attention as being an expert in the field of sports medicine. His extracurricular sports medicine activities include serving as team physician on the professional, collegiate, and high school levels, and serving as the medical director for the Route 66 Marathon.  He is married and enjoys spending time with his children.

Ann Nelson, MBA

Ann Nelson has been the Business Manager for the OU Physicians Health@Work Program since April 2011.  She came to the University of Oklahoma Department of Family Medicine in 2007 with 15 years of experience at IBM Business Consulting Services having held numerous accounting and management roles.   She is Six Sigma certified and has worked with clients from various industries on project design and implementation.  

Ann obtained a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Northeastern State University and holds a Masters in Business Administration with a specialization in Healthcare Administration from Southern Nazarene University.   Ann is a member of National Association of Professional Women and the National Association of Black Accountants. 

Patrick Hutton, PhD

Dr. Hutton is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine - Department of Family Medicine, and serves as Director of Business and Program Development for Family Medicine, Community Health, and Sports Medicine, and is program director for the ChampionHealth, Health@Work, and Human Capital and Wellbeing programs. Dr. Hutton also serves on faculty in the University of Oklahoma Graduate College - Department of Psychology. His research interests are in the areas of stress disorders, and how they correlate with employee and patient health outcomes, and using population health management to improve large scale health outcomes.  

Dr. Hutton has a Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and is a graduate of Cornell University's Executive Education Program in Executive Leadership for Healthcare Professionals. He also received training from the Mayo Clinic in patient specific motivational interviewing and nicotine dependence and treatment. As a hobby he holds fitness certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Tiffany Allen

Tiffany Allen is the Program Coordinator for OU Health@Work.  She is responsible for managing wellness programs for various corporations.  She also oversees several on-site clinics that are tailored specifically to the needs of that organization. Her personal goal for the Health@Work program is to help organizations create a culture of healthy and happy people.

She joined the OU Department of Family Medicine in January of 2016 with over 12 years of health care experience.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Tulsa as well as her Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration.  Prior to her position with OU, Tiffany worked in the clinic manager and healthcare marketing roles.  When not at work, she enjoys traveling, volunteer work and spending time with her family.

David Brennan, M Ed, Instructor

An Australian native, David Brennan earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Houston. He has held faculty appointments at Houston Community College, Baylor College of Medicine, and OU-Tulsa Department of Family Medicine where he teaches and develops worksite primary care and wellness programs. He also coordinates the Family Medicine Human Performance Lab. Mr. Brennan enjoys running and music and has been a competitive distance runner since 1967 and jazz musician since 1985.

Angela Boyd

Angela Boyd began her service with the University of Oklahoma in 2005 as the fellowship coordinator for family medicine and assistant to Dr. Cavanagh, the sports medicine team and fellowship directors.   During that time she was responsible for co-coordinating the resident academic afternoon, fellowship program accreditation, improved program processes and expansion of three fellowships.  She was also instrumental in the configuration of the exercise and physical therapy room, as well as the human performance lab located onsite in the family medicine building. She transitioned to the Health@Work program almost 6 years ago and provides excellent organizational skills and is efficient in all departmental and university procedures. Her current role involves operational functions associated with program planning, preparation, and delivery while also serving as a liaison for corporate staff and clients.
