Dr. Karen Gold joined the School of Community Medicine and OU Physicians-Tulsa in 2012 and serves as Residency Program Director for the Department of OB/GYN. Dr. Gold received her medical degree and completed her OB/GYN residency at the OU College of Medicine in Oklahoma City. For the next five years, she served as a Major in Active Duty as an OB/GYN physician and Flight Surgeon for the United States Air Force’s airborne early warning and control units (AWACS). After leaving the Air Force, Dr. Gold spent the next five years in private practice before attending Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. At Vanderbilt, Dr. Gold completed a Master’s of Science in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) and a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Prior to joining OU, she served as Assistant Professor of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstruction Surgery, a subspecialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
