As a Sooner Discovery student, you will spend the morning and afternoon in college courses on the OU campus. The morning course, to be selected by you, satisfies a general education credit requirement. In the afternoon, all Sooner Discovery students will attend an “Introduction to Academic Discovery” course, which satisfies an elective course credit requirement. The course will focus on the college application process as well as instilling in students the effective learning and study skills that lead to success.
In addition to academics, students will be experience collegiate life in the residence halls through fun and exciting activities hosted and planned by our Discovery Guides (undergraduate peer advisors) and OU Summer Session.
Students have the opportunity to discover Oklahoma’s heritage and explore all our great state has to offer. Through weekend field trips to OKC's museums, professional sporting events, Tulsa’s aquarium, OKC Riversport Adventures or the Philbrook Museum of Art, every student is sure to find something they enjoy!
Sooner Discovery is intended for high achieving students who are motivated by challenging experiences. Space is limited, so apply early to ensure your application has the best chance of being selected.
