Course prerequisites for the Bachelors of Arts in Social Work
To be completed before admission to the social work program:
ZOO/MBIO/BOT 1005 Concepts in Biology or Zoo 1114 Introductory Zoology

       PSY 1113Elements of Psychology
       SOC 1113Introduction to Sociology
     *SWK 2113Introduction to Social Work
    **SWK 2223Statistics for Social Workers

Transfer students will be placed in the proper sequence based on previously completed social work courses. If you have course equivalents to the above prerequisites please discuss them with the Undergraduate Coordinator.
*It is preferred to take SWK 2113 before admission, but it may be taken in the first semester after acceptance into the program.
**Statistics is not a prerequisite for admission, but it must be completed before the senior year sequence.
