This course is designed to help future managers understand and use human resource compensation systems. Students will be exposed to theories from labor economics and psychology that guide the design and operation of modern compensation systems, including wage structures, wage levels, merit pay systems, and benefits. A partial list of compensation practices covered include job analysis, relevant legislation, job evaluation systems, wage and salary surveys, and merit pay systems, and benefits administration.
Group project
performing first two phases of FastCat case.
Grades will be
based on student performance on three Midterm Exams and
the FastCat case project. Each will contribute equally
(i.e., 25%) to the final course grade.
