William T. (Tim) Wiseman - University Risk Officer

Tim Wiseman is the University Risk Officer for the University of Oklahoma with duties on the Norman, Oklahoma City (Health Sciences) and Tulsa campuses. Tim is also a contributing faculty member for Public Risk Management and Insurance Association (PRIMA) Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in Higher Ed education program and Board Member for the University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA). He has previously served in risk management positions with the University of Wyoming (Chief Risk Officer) from 2019-2024 and East Carolina University (Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enterprise Risk Management and Military Affairs) from 2009-2019. Tim earned the Associate in Risk Management - Enterprise-Wide Risk Management (ARM-E) designation in 2012, is a certified defense financial manager (RET), with a B.S. in business administration from the University of Arkansas, an MBA from Syracuse University, and a M.S. in national resource strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. A recognized ERM practitioner, he presents regularly in auditing, financial and risk management forums. Prior to entering the risk management field, Tim served in various command and staff positions for 26 years as a finance officer and resource manager in the U.S. Army including service as a Congressional Budget Liaison.

Cathy Krane - Director of Enterprise Risk Management

Cathy serves as the Director of Risk Management of the Norman Campus of the University of Oklahoma. She also oversees the risk management functions of the University’s Study Center in Arezzo, Italy. Cathy began her career at the University of Oklahoma in September of 2020. Prior to coming to the University of Oklahoma, Cathy worked for nearly seventeen years both as an attorney and as a manager at Great West Casualty Company, an Old Republic International subsidiary. During her time at Great West Casualty Company, Cathy had an opportunity to work with trucking companies to assess and address risk as well as offer claims handling advice. Further, Cathy has been an instructor for the University of Tennessee’s Kids U summer program for the past 15 years. Since November 2018, Cathy has been a member of the Board of Trustees for the Society of Claims Law Associates and currently serves as the Board’s Executive Vice President. Cathy holds a Law Degree from the University of Tennessee and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee. She has also earned several designations including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in General Insurance (AINS), Associate in Claims Management (AIC-M), Supervisory Management (SM), and Senior Claims Law Associate (SCLA).
