Frequently Asked Questions

Business students are required to be advised every semester prior to enrollment for the following semester.  Advisors are assigned by major and student last name. To schedule an advising appointment, please go to https://iadvise.ou.edu

If you are a current business major, there are no deadlines or GPA requirements to change your major. However, students from outside the business college who wish to change to business must have a 2.75 OU and combined overall retention GPA.  Change requests are not accepted after the 11th week of the semester.  To request a major change, email the advisor assigned to your desired major.

Yes, if you are pursuing one of the business minors available to nonbusiness majors, please email the advisor assigned to your minor.  A list of advisors and assignments can be found here.

All other students should email Garrett Hollingsworth at ghollingsworth@ou.edu for enrollment permission.

Your enrollment window is based upon the number of hours you have earned.  Visit one.ou.edu for more detailed information.

If you receive the message "Course is restricted to either Degree Candidacy by College or Honors or Thesis/Dissertation" upon attempting to enroll in upper division business courses, you must first complete the process required for degree candidacy.

Although the University of Oklahoma records all international transfer grades as S, Price College of Business will use actual grades earned to calculate your degree candidacy GPA.

The following courses are prerequisites for B AD 4013:

  • MGT 3013
  • MKT 3013
  • L S 3323
  • FIN 2303

Additionally, you must receive permission from your advisor to enroll in B AD 4013.

You must enroll in section 001 of the following:

  • MGT 3013
  • MKT 3013
  • L S 3323
  • B AD 3013

Yes, you are required to transfer ALL classes.  Failure to do so is considered academic misconduct and may result in suspension or permanent dismissal from the University.

A grade of D is typically considered passing, and in most cases, you may not be required to repeat the course to fulfill degree requirements. However, some classes may require a grade of C or better as a prerequisite. Please consult your advisor for specific guidance.

Please note that a grade of D is not acceptable for the following courses as part of the Price College Degree Candidacy Process:

  • ACCT 2113
  • BC 2813.
  • ECON 1113, ECON 1123, ECON 2843,
  • MIS 2113

To graduate, you must maintain a 2.50 OU and combined retention GPA in overall coursework, major courses, and upper-division business courses.

The University of Oklahoma's repeat policy is as follows:

  • Students may not repeat a course in which they earned a grade of A or B unless the course is designated as 'repeatable for credit.'
  • Undergraduate students may repeat up to four courses or 18 hours (whichever comes first) in which they originally received a grade of D or F. Only the second grade will be included in the retention/graduation GPA calculation.
  • Beyond the four-course or 18-hour limit, students who repeat courses will have both the original and repeat grades included in the retention/graduation GPA calculation.
  • Academic credit from any division of the University of Oklahoma—Norman campus, OU Health Sciences Center, OU-Tulsa, or the College of Continuing Education—is included in the OU retention/graduation and cumulative GPA calculations for retention and graduation purposes

Yes, you may participate in convocation and commencement in May before completing all degree requirements in the summer. However, your transcript will indicate that you are a summer graduate.
