1950s


Bill Stephenson (BBA, Management, 1954) recently wrote an article about Ivy League Football: Backward Pass: A Short History Of Ivy League Football

 

1960s


Richard Masinton (BBA, Accounting, 1965) released a new book, Fade to Gray, which explores his personal history surviving his wife’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.


O. Christopher Meyers (BBA, Finance, JD; 1966, 1969) was sworn into office for his next two-year-term on March 1 during a ceremony at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City. Meyers in his 50th year practicing law is beginning a second term to the Council on Judicial Complaints.

1970s


Brett Bowers (BBA, Finance, 1980) received the Circle of Excellence Award at the Bank Insurance and Securities Association Annual Conference.  


Mark Burget (BBA, Accounting; JD, 1976, 1979) was announced as chief general counsel by Oklahoma State Governor Kevin Stitt.


Charles W. “Chuck” Chesnut(BBA, Finance; JD, 1974, 1977) has been named the 2019 Oklahoma Bar Association president. Chesnut has served 17 years as a member of the Miami Board of Education.


Dennis Clowers (MBA, 1973) retired after 13 years of public service as an Assistant City Manager for the City of Oklahoma City. Clowers ran his own engineering firm from 1982 to 2005. 


Steve Ives (BBA, Accounting; Master of Accountancy, 1973, 1974) and his wife, Leslie, recently established a Sports Management Fellowship for Price students.


David Rainbolt (BBA, Finance, 1978) was appointed to the board of directors of OGE Energy Corp. and as a member of its audit committee. Rainbolt is the Executive Chairman of the BancFirst Corporation, having previously served for 25 years as its CEO.


David Thompson (Bachelor of Accountancy, 1979) was named Senior Portfolio Manager at the Signature Bank of Georgia. Previously, Thompson gained experience with key roles in credit management and portfolio strategies for various financial institutions.

1980s


JP Audas (BBA, Marketing, 1987) has been named the new director of development for USAO, following at 26-year career at the University of Oklahoma.


Kurt Felts (BBA, Marketing, 1983) was interviewed by the Gaylord Herald Times, where he spoke about using his Marketing degree on a regular basis.


J.P. Fitzgerald (BBA, Accounting, 1988) was honored in October as a distinguished alumni by the El Reno Public Schools Foundation during its Thousands of Reasons Gala. Fitzgerald currently serves as the market president of BancFirst El Reno.


The Honorable David B. Lewis (BBA, Economics; JD, 1980, 1983) was elected as the presiding judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals for his second term.


John David Luton (BBA, Finance, 1981) was sworn in as a new Special Judge at the Wagoner County Courthouse.


Rick Scheer (BBA, Finance, 1989) released the new SmartBrew machine, a game changer when it comes to brewing tea. Scheer has been in the tea business since the 1990s


Kevin Startz (BBA, Finance, 1987) was named trustee of the Frank Phillips Foundation. Startz is the manager of Real Estate & Facilities Services (REFS) for ConocoPhillips.


Randall Stephenson (Master of Accountancy, 1986) was mentioned in article that listed the college education backgrounds of America’s top CEOs. Stephenson is the Chairman, CEO and President of AT&T.

1990s


Michael Beyer (BBA, Accounting, 1998) has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Laredo Petroleum, Inc. Beyer began his career in the oil and gas industry in 2002 and joined Laredo in 2007.


Scott Breor (MBA, 1991) spoke at Norwich University’s cybersecurity summit. Breor currently serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary (Acting) for the Office of Infrastructure Protection within the Department of Homeland Security’s National Protection and Programs Directorate.


Scott Briggs (BBA, Management, 1994) was named Managing Director of Human Resources at OGE Energy Corporation after 15 years with The Oklahoman Media Company.


Bob Brousseau (BBA, Finance, 1991) joined Russell Reynolds Associates, where he now advises C-suite–level executive and management teams in the medical devices and diagnostics industries.


Jonathan Kennedy (BBA, Finance, 1991) was featured in a story about his family business, T.H. Rogers Lumber Co.


Scott Pittman (BBA, Management Informational Systems, 1999) was named Chief Financial Officer of Chaparral Energy. Pittman has more than 14 years of experience in senior financial management.


Jay Rampuria (BBA, Finance, 1998) recently published an article about product development solutions. He is the Executive Vice President of Global Business and Corporate Development for Toluna.


Jarrod Wise (BBA, Finance; MBA, 1990, 1992) was named president of BancFirst in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Wise has 25 years of banking experience, and has been with BancFirst since 2003.

2000s


Ryan Barnett (BBA, Marketing, 2001) has joined Heritage Retirement Plan Advisors as vice president of retirement services. Barnett has more than 10 years of experience in the retirement plan industry.


Dan Boren (MBA, 2001) joined the SoldierStrong Advisory Board. Boren is the president of corporate development for the Chickasaw Nation.


Ray Foreman (BBA, Finance, 2005) has joined the First Oklahoma Bank team as Senior Vice President and Lender. With 13 years of banking experience, Foreman will help grow the bank’s commercial loan portfolio.


Amanda Good (BBA, Finance, 2009) recently was promoted to senior accountant with UHY LLP. Good provides attestation and assurance services to companies in a variety of industries, specializing in not-for-profits.


Emily Heck (BBA, Finance/Marketing, 2004) recently joined Emblem Real Estate. Heck has specialized in corporate education and sales for more than 10 years.


Heather Hubbard (BBA, Entrepreneurship & Venture Management, 2008) recently was interviewed as a “Woman in Private Equity to Know.” Hubbard is a partner at Valesco.


Wes Knight (BBA, Accounting, MBA; 2001, 2005) was named Senior Vice President and Trust Manager for Simmons Bank’s Oklahoma Trust Division. With 12 years of trust experience, Knight's expertise includes management of both personal trust and investment accounts.


Rebecca Miller (BBA, Marketing, 2005) was named Smoothie King’s Chief Marketing Officer.  She was previously the Senior Vice President of Marketing for On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina.


Rakesh Patel (BBA, International Business, 2001) was recognized as a Top 5 Rising Star by EB5 Investors Magazine. For the past five years, he has been assisting investors throughout the world with all their EB-5 immigration needs.


Diana Rawdon (BBA, Marketing, 2005) has been named Senior Vice President of Professional and Executive Banking at Republic Bank & Trust.


Tim Roberts (BBA, Finance, 2005), who is the vice president of international business at Cherokee Nation Businesses, received a 40 Under 40 award by Oklahoma Magazine

2010s


 

Jerika Coffman (BBA, Finance, 2010) recently was promoted to Vice President of Credit Administration at Quail Creek Bank after joining Quail Creek Bank in 2001 as a credit analyst.

 

 

 

 


Bryce Cornet (BBA, Marketing, 2016) is featured in an award-winning new documentary about overcoming medical issues while pursuing his love of racing. Cornet’s website includes his most recent race car victories and upcoming schedules.


Ryan Cox (BBA, Accounting; Master of Accountancy, 2018) received the Gold Medal for the highest score on all four CPA exams, as reported by the Oklahoma Society of CPAs.


Whitney Duenas (BBA, Marketing, 2018) has opened a new spin/barre studio in the Newport Area, Barre By The Bay.


Mark Duvall (BBA, Accounting, 2012) has been named the Vice President of Pre-Construction Services for Bob Moore Construction. Duvall has been with the company since 2012.


Grant Fate (BBA, Accounting/Finance, 2018) was named an Associate—Capital Markets with Stonebriar Commercial Finance.  Grant joined Stonebriar from CBAM Partners.


Linda Fonkoue (MBA, 2011) was a featured guest speaker at the Jump Start 2019 Conference. Fonkoue is the Global Supply Base Manager for Logistics at Deere & Company.


Kelly Grant (BBA, Accounting; Master of Accountancy, 2013, 2013) was added to the Siegfried team in the Denver area as a manager. Kelly was previously an Audit Manager at Grant Thornton.


Brooke Havig (BBA, Management Information Systems, 2018) was named a Consultant in the Process & Technology practice with Opportune LLC.  


Amanda Hurney (BBA, Entrepreneurship & Venture Management, 2013) was recently interviewed about her Oklahoma City boutique, Mode.


Alli Irwin (BBA, Finance, 2013) recently was named Head of Client Impact at Landdox. She previously worked six years with Oseberg.


Steven Jacobs (MBA, 2018) was named Regional Sales Manager for WAGO. Jacobs previously served as an automation engineer in Oklahoma City with Rexel.


Cory Lawson (BBA, Management, 2013) was awarded a Next Gen Under 30 Award for Policy and Public Service. Lawson serves as a Transportation Regulatory Analyst for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.


David Blaine Lewis, Jr. (BBA, Management Information Systems, 2012) taught a course on Prejudice & Unconscious Bias – The New Alternatives in Bartlesville. Lewis is an information technology auditor for ConocoPhillips.


Nicole Lynn (BBA, Management, 2011) is set to become the first African American woman to represent an athlete to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. Lynn previously represented the Oakland RaidersWashington RedskinsDenver Broncos and other teams.


Lauren McCoy (BBA, International Business, 2012) recently was featured in a story by Baylor University, where she is set to graduate soon with her Master of Divinity and MBA.


Braden Merritt (MBA, 2014) presented recently at the Oklahoma Venture Forum on behalf of Humphreys Capital, where he serves as the Director of Investor Relations.


David Osborn (BBA, Accounting, 2011) recently joined the ClearRidge team as Manager of Business Intelligence. Osborn previously served at HoganTaylor LLP.


Emma Pile (BBA, Entrepreneurship & Venture Management, 2016) teamed up with a friend to start AVARI Bridal, which specializes in wedding dress design.


Sydney Qing Shu (PhD, Business Administration, 2016) recently co-authored a study with Wayne B. Thomas (Price College) in the American Accounting Association’s Journal of Management Accounting Research. The study finds that any benefit from income “smoothing” actually depends on the relative volume of stock and stock options held by the CEO.


James Simpson (BBA, Entrepreneurship & Venture Management, 2011) is CEO of GoldFire Studios, which released its latest multiplayer gameExocraft.


Clint Summers (BBA, International Business, 2010) was selected as the Tulsa University College of Law’s 2018 Oklahoma Bar Association Student of the Year.


Mark Swearingen (BBA, Accounting/Finance, 2018) was hired as a financial analyst for Wintrust Commercial Finance after completing an internship with the company.


Josh Walker (MBA, 2016) was named Vice President of Completions and Operations for Chaparral Energy. Previously, walker served at Chesapeake Energy.


Corbin Wallace (BBA, Finance, 2014) recently married Laine Dillinger of Purcell, Oklahoma.  Corbin is currently Director of Simple Modern.

In Memoriam


Peter “Pete” Adamson, III (BBA, Accounting, 1964) passed away on January 17, 2019, at age 77.  He began his career as a CPA before taking on a career in the securities brokerage business in 1968. A Price remembrance can be found here.


 

Matthew Bishop (BBA, Real Estate, 2003) passed away this spring. For the past 16 years, he worked for Statewide Service Center in Oklahoma City.

 

 

 

 


Jonathan Brocksmith (BBA, Management, 1977) recently passed away on March 23, 2019. Early in his career in the insurance business, he worked for Southwestern Life and Life Insurance Counselors before creating his own firm, Life Insurance Brokerage Agency. 


Noah Farha (BBA, Marketing, 2018) passed away April 15, 2019. He was a sales representative at Labatt Food Service and an avid OU football fan.


Daniel Keating (MBA, 1972) passed away at age 74. Keating served on the Oklahoma State Board of Education and as the state co-chairman of the Trump for President Campaign in 2016.


Jim Machen (BBA, Accounting, 1965) passed away in early January, 2019. An active CPA, Machen was one of the founding members of Machen PowersDisque & Boyle Chartered, which was formed in 1982. 


Bob Mathews (BBA, Management, 1969) passed away on February 16, 2019. After retiring from a successful career with Southwestern Bell, Mathews found joy as a substitute teacher in Owasso.


David Newman (BBA, Marketing, 1992) passed away in early February, 2019. He worked in real estate for more than 20 years, and had recently started his own business, Newman Commercial Real Estate


Mittie Reece Nickles, founder of the Nicholas Addy Adwon Memorial Scholarship, passed away at the age of 98. She spent much of her career working for the Internal Revenue Department, and her desire was to fund scholarships for students from small Oklahoma towns who wish to enter the field of accounting.


Andy Dorman Phillips (BBA, Finance, 1961) passed away on November 23, 2018 at the age of 79. Phillips enjoyed a successful career that took him from oil and gas to insurance to banking, where he finished his career with a long stint as a Vice President at Austin Bank
