Price College of Business Reports Two 2020 Rankings Jumps

Fall 2019 graduates at the December’s convocation ceremony

After a fall semester that brought historic gains in program rankings, the Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma is at it again.

The College has announced brand-new ranking jumps in both U.S. News and World Report and Poets&Quants for Undergrads. In the 2020 U.S. News Best Online Programs rankings, the Price College of Business has jumped 15 spots to No. 55 in the nation for its online master’s business program (non-MBA) after debuting in 2019. In late December, Poets&Quants announced another double-digit jump for Price College in its Best of 2020 ranking, to No. 57, up nearly 20 spots from last year.

“The 2019-20 academic year continues to excite the faculty, staff and students at the Michael F. Price College of Business,” said Wayne Thomas, interim dean of the College. “The upward trajectory of these important national rankings strengthens our resolve to continue improving the programs our students deserve. We are excited to make such visible gains that are a great reflection of the talent and dedication of our faculty and staff, the enthusiasm of our students and the support of our alumni, corporate partners and other key stakeholders.”

According to U.S. News, online graduate business program rankings assess master’s-level business degree programs that are not MBA programs, such as degrees in accounting, finance, marketing and management. The publication considered the following criteria in its ranking methodology: student engagement, outside expert opinion, faculty credentials and training, student excellence, and academic services and technologies. In total, 188 institutions were ranked in this year’s list.

Poets&Quants for Undergrads is a publication specializing in undergraduate business college rankings. This year’s list included 97 business schools in the United States, and rankings are based equally on admissions standards, academic experience and employment outcomes, based on college alumni surveys. This ranking is the highest that Price College’s undergraduate program has received in its history – a ranking that represents 31st among all public business schools.

The Michael F. Price College of Business has experienced significant growth over the past five years in the number of faculty, staff and students and has become OU’s second-largest college, with more than 4,900 students. The College offers undergraduate, master’s, executive and doctoral programs across six academic divisions in Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, Finance, Management and International Business, Management Information Systems, and Marketing and Supply Chain Management.
