The Fall 2025 application is now open. Spring entry is not available for the Full-time MBA program.
Fall 2025 application deadlines:
Early deadline: February 15, 2025
International applicants: April 1, 2025
Domestic applicants: May 1, 2025
We value a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives in our classroom, so we encourage applicants from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds to apply.
Our admissions committee will review your application in its entirety. We are seeking applicants who have the academic ability to be successful in a fast-paced program, as well as a history that demonstrates goal setting and achievement. Our final consideration is the level of professionalism you exhibit throughout the application process and during your program interview.
Professional work experience is not required for admission to the full-time program.
Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis. It is to your advantage to apply as early as you are ready. The admissions committee cannot predict the quality of future applications and is inclined to admit well-qualified applicants early in the process. In addition, early application ensures that you will receive a decision earlier.
Requirements
The non-refundable application fee covers the cost of processing the application. The application fee is $50 for domestic applicants and $100 for international applicants. We do not offer application fee waivers.
While you do not need to submit all of your application requirements at once, your application will not be considered for admission until we have received all required parts of your application.
Upload an unofficial copy of your transcript from your last degree-granting institution to the online application and request for an official transcript to be sent to OU.
Official Paper Transcripts can be sent to:
University of Oklahoma
Office of Graduate Admissions
731 Elm Avenue, Room 318
Norman, OK 73019
Official Electronic Transcripts can be sent to:
gradadm@ou.edu
Entrance exams demonstrate your academic aptitude in areas that will be developed during the MBA program.
We accept the GMAT or GRE exam. Test scores are valid for five years, and we only consider your highest GMAT or GRE scores. Which test you take is entirely up to you, and we do not give preferential treatment to those who select one test over the other.
For applicants who can prove strong quantitative and analytical skills through their academic or professional background, we have a limited number of exam waivers available. If you would like to be considered for an exam waiver, your waiver eligibility will be evaluated after submitting an otherwise completed application to the OU MBA Program. Your application will be reviewed, with a focus on your academic background, analytical coursework, and any relevant work experience.
Please note that all applicants who are seeking scholarship funding in any capacity are required to submit either GMAT or GRE scores with their application.
Provide a copy of an up-to-date professional résumé. Include information about full-time positions, military assignments, and significant part-time or summer work experiences. Résumés should also list education history with dates of attendance and graduation.
As part of the online application, you will be asked to respond to one brief, required essay question detailing why you want to pursue an MBA at OU and your future career goals (500 words maximum). In addition, if you feel there are unaddressed gaps in your educational background or professional experience, you may also submit another optional brief statement (200 words maximum).
The admissions committee will contact you via email to schedule the interview at a mutually convenient time. Interviews can be conducted in-office, online, or over the phone.
Requests for transfer credit are reviewed upon acceptance to the Full-time MBA program. Courses must be from an AACSB-accredited institution with an earned grade of B or higher, taken within the last five years, and approved by the MBA department.
There are no prerequisites for the MBA program. The curriculum provides introductory business courses at the graduate level.
Letters of Recommendation are optional. If you choose to submit recommendation letters, you may upload them in the “Additional Documents” section of the online application or email them to OklahomaMBA@ou.edu.
Reapplying the following year, after being denied, does not hamper your chances of being admitted into the program. We will evaluate your application as brand new and will not consider the previous denial. If you want to improve your application and are unsure of how to better your chances, feel free to reach out to us. We would be happy to discuss how you can improve your application.
International Students
International student applicants who are interested in a STEM-designated MBA should apply for the dual MBA/MS MIT. After submitting the application to the Full-time MBA program, interested admitted students will be advised on adding the dual MS MIT.
Deadline for international applicants is April 1st.
The non-refundable application fee for international applicants is $100.
All international applicants must provide evidence of financial support for their first year of study. Applicants can wait until they have been accepted to proceed with providing this documentation.
Applicants must submit a transcript from the college or university where they earned their most recent degree in order to be considered for admission.
The language of instruction at OU is English. Adequate English language skills are essential to academic success. If English is not your first language, you will be required to demonstrate English language proficiency before admission. The MBA program requires a TOEFL score of 100 or higher or an IELTS score of 7.0 or higher.
Frequently Asked Questions
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Admissions decisions and scholarships are awarded as completed applications are received. For more information about application requirements, please visit here. The final application deadline for international applicants is April 1.
All full-time MBA applicants are considered for scholarships when they apply to the program and submit all required documents, including official GMAT or GRE scores. Submitting valid GMAT or GRE scores is required to be considered for scholarships. The GMAT and GRE are entrance exams that measure academic proficiency. English proficiency exams will not substitute for this requirement. Scholarships range from partial tuition to full tuition and fees. Graduate Assistantships are a form of scholarship and are considered the top scholarship. Graduate Assistantships provide tuition along with a small stipend that may be used towards fees and living expenses. We do not offer scholarships that cover all possible expenses such as full tuition, full fees, and living expenses such as housing and food.
We do not offer meal plans or housing for MBA students. Our MBA students choose to live in a variety of housing options: apartments, renting a house, etc. Once admitted to the Full-time MBA, we will connect you with a current student, who will be able to help answer questions about the student experience.
Please see here for important details for international applicants.
The 3-semester, Full-time MBA program is not STEM-designated. For a STEM designated degree, you will need to apply to the FT MBA and then add a dual degree of MS MIT, which would extend your total time to degree completion by one semester. You would complete those two degrees in two years total.
