Transfer Programs exist to ensure connection, support, and a sense of belonging is created for transfer students at the University of Oklahoma. This program hosts social gatherings each semester, provides peer mentoring, and extends leadership opportunities for the students involved.
Transfer students can select to participate in the peer mentoring program each semester. To sign up, please visit the link below.
While in the program, mentees will be connected with a mentor who is also a transfer student at OU and has been at the university for more than one semester. Mentees and mentors will meet each semester at least three times but can meet more frequently if they choose.
Each month, transfer students can participate in programming events hosted by the New Student Programs team. These meetings include social and resourceful components and will help students engage in connection with other students, as well as link them to necessary campus resources. At the beginning and end of each semester, the New Student Programs team will also host fun events to celebrate students who are starting and ending their time at the University.
Transfer Student Advisory Board (T-SAB): This board of 10-12 nominated students serve as a resource for the Provost to learn more about transfer students' experiences from the application process through their final semester. Students meet once per month for six months. Applications for Fall 2023 T-SAB have now closed. If you are interested in applying in the future, please email johnniemargaret@ou.edu.
